Secuoya Content Group celebrates a decade of exemplary management at La 7

Ten years of efficient regional television with no cost overruns for the Region of Murcia

This April marks ten years since Secuoya Content Group took over the management of La 7, the regional television channel of the Region of Murcia. Over the past decade, it has become a pioneering model in Spain: a publicly owned channel operated indirectly, without incurring additional costs for the Autonomous Community. La 7 has proven that it is possible to deliver a high-quality, responsible, and sustainable public service with rigorous and transparent use of public funds.

“At Secuoya Content Group, we are deeply proud of these ten years of management. We have shown that it is possible to provide a quality public service without cost overruns, with exemplary administration of public resources, and with a strong commitment to developing the audiovisual sector in the Region of Murcia.”

Thanks to this model, La 7 has significantly increased its audience share, rising from 0.6% to over 3%, becoming the region’s preferred source of news and entertainment. It is now the most cost-efficient regional TV channel in Spain in terms of audience share.

This growth has been supported by a stable team of over 100 permanent employees and a network of partnerships with more than 30 regional production companies, making the channel a key driver of the audiovisual industry in Murcia.

In its commitment to local talent, Secuoya Content Group and La 7 have launched initiatives such as the Fund for Works and Entertainment (FOE), which this year will allocate €760,000 to finance 14 new projects. Since taking over management, more than 10 feature films and 30 documentaries and short films have been produced, reinforcing the region’s commitment to the audiovisual industry.

One of the most recent projects is Sorda, a film by Murcia-based directors Eva Libertad and Nuria Muñoz, with participation from La 7, which has garnered recognition at festivals including Berlinale and the Festival de Málaga.
