Santiago Yuste: “We should use AI to simplify processes that until now were done manually”

The group participates in the conference on the use and consequences of the use of Artificial Intelligence at the fourth edition of Iberseries & Platinum Industry.

In the fourth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria, one of the most important events for the Ibero-American audiovisual industry, Secuoya Content Group had a prominent participation in the panel on the Impact of AI in the audiovisual sector: uses and consequences. Santiago Yuste, CIO of the group, was one of the key speakers at this meeting that analyzed the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) in the creation and production of audiovisual content.

AI in the audiovisual sector: between opportunities and challenges

AI has burst into the audiovisual world, generating excitement and uncertainty. On the one hand, its applications are revolutionary, making it possible to optimize production processes, improve technical quality and streamline complex tasks. From the automation of post-production processes to the creation of data-driven content, the possibilities offered by AI seem limitless.

These are possibilities that were already on the minds of experts years ago, when Artificial Intelligence was just an idea to be created, far from cutting-edge technology. Santiago Yuste said during the meeting that, although the idea had existed for more than a decade, the lack of information did not allow it to be developed more fully until “just two or three years ago”. At present, its most advisable use is to save time and facilitate processes: “We should use it to simplify or automate processes that until now were done manually,” he confirmed.

Perspective from Secuoya Content Group

Santiago Yuste, representing Secuoya Content Group, provided his strategic vision on the impact of artificial intelligence in the creative and technical processes of the audiovisual sector. Secuoya, always at the forefront of technological innovation, has been exploring various applications of AI in its processes, seeking to balance the efficiency that this technology provides with respect for the creative and ethical rights of the sector.

“At Secuoya Studios we talk about different AIs. From innovation, we try to separate the creative processes from the ‘back office’ ones. We have a system that makes us a systematic cataloging or, in the case of the Legal department, allows us to structure information, take out clauses, contracts… It is a way to simplify the work and improve the day-to-day performance”, highlights Yuste, without leaving aside the human value: ‘We bet on the human part, because we know how to tell stories and we want to, and we rely on the back office part to ensure a fast and efficient delivery’.

An audiovisual future driven by AI

The panel on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence in the audiovisual sector made it clear that AI is set to be a key element in the future of the industry. As studios and production companies incorporate this technology into their processes, it is critical to seriously address the challenges it brings. “Unlike other technologies that have fallen by the wayside, it is clear that AI is here to stay,” concluded Santiago Yuste.

The conference was also attended by leading professionals from the audiovisual industry, moderated by Jimena Argüelles, production director of Nonstop Mexico. Santiago Yuste was joined by Ricardo Vaca, president of Barlovento Comunicación; Marta Sanz, general secretary of AMC Networks International Southern Europe; Carlos Gómez, general director of EGEDA Mexico.
