The Madrid Audiovisual Cluster celebrates its first anniversary at Iberseries & Platino Industria

The entity, chaired by Raúl Berdonés, has organized a workshop on artificial intelligence use cases and meetings for its members at the largest international event of the Ibero-American audiovisual sector.

One year after its presentation, the Madrid Audiovisual Cluster, chaired by Raúl Berdonés, has developed a complete agenda of activities during the fifth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria, which brought together more than 2,500 audiovisual professionals from 50 countries. An event promoted by Fundación Secuoya and EGEDA, in collaboration with FIPCA and supported by the Community of Madrid and the Madrid City Council. It is also sponsored by Madrid Film Office and Film Madrid, and supported by ICEX.

At the inauguration, Raúl Berdonés, representing Secuoya Content Group, described the forum as “a global platform that today connects the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, and as a space for dialogue between talent and companies to promote international collaborations and new business models.”

The Cluster has organized meetings for its member entities with distinguished guests such as Disney+, Gaumont, Warner Bros Discovery, RAI Fiction, Tiktok, and YouTube, who were invited to this edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria.

Artificial Intelligence in Practice: Workshop on AI Use Cases in the Audiovisual Sector

On October 1, the Madrid Audiovisual Cluster held a workshop on the uses of artificial intelligence in the audiovisual sector, with examples ranging from content promotion to production and post-production in fiction, entertainment, advertising, and sports. The initiative is part of the Cluster’s commitment to innovation and support for its members in adopting new technologies.

Eight speakers, mostly members of the Cluster, shared practical experiences on how AI is transforming the industry. The event was presented by Raúl Izquierdo (TBS–Telefónica) and led by cultural technologist Henar León.

Beatriz Acinas (Adhokers) and creator Alec Hernández opened the session with their experience in production and digital content strategy. They were followed by Sarah Calderón (The Film Agency), who presented AI use cases in audiovisual marketing. Víctor Guerra (Brandominus) spoke about brand positioning in environments dominated by AI, while Ramón Arteman (Metropolitana) highlighted the importance of transparency and legal compliance in its application.

Manuel Ramírez (El Ranchito) presented the AI tool developed by his company for VFX projects. Sofía Schenone (Moments Lab) also did so, with her technology to generate automated summaries — such as the coverage of the Cannes Festival — and the partners of Pendular, Carlos Ballesteros and Juan José Cano-Cortés, with an example of real-time coverage of the Australian Open.

The closing was carried out by Óscar del Castillo and Abel Muela (TBS–Tech Brand Stories), who showed how they use AI to create sports summaries for Movistar Plus+ and its social networks.

In addition, the Cluster organized the round table Attention Economy: What Happens with the Platforms of the Creator Economy?, with the participation of representatives from TikTok, Twitch, and YouTube, moderated by María Valenzuela (Brisa Media), where they discussed success strategies and the role of creators in the new digital ecosystem.
