Raúl Berdonés, chairman of Secuoya Content Group, emphasized that this is an unbeatable opportunity to showcase the development of the largest audiovisual production center in Spain and one of the most important in Europe
Madrid Content City hosted today the presentation of the new Strategic Plan for the Audiovisual Industry of the Community of Madrid, a project endowed with more than 40 million euros for the 2026–2029 period and designed to boost the sector’s competitiveness, growth and international projection. During her visit to Europe’s largest audiovisual hub, the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, stressed that “Madrid is the perfect place to invest in film shoots, series, animation or video games,” highlighting the quality of local talent, the strength of its infrastructure, and the extensive network of suppliers located “less than an hour away from one another.”
For his part, Raúl Berdonés, chairman of Secuoya Content Group, recalled that “the president first visited us in 2019, when this project was just taking its first steps,” celebrating that she has now been able to tour Netflix’s Phase II soundstages and the new XPost Studios post-production facilities. Berdonés noted that this is “an unbeatable opportunity to witness the development of the largest audiovisual production center in Spain and one of the most important in Europe.”

A plan to strengthen Madrid’s audiovisual industry
The Strategic Plan is structured around five pillars and was developed in coordination with different departments of the regional government through the Film Madrid Region film office, with the participation of the Madrid Audiovisual Cluster. The first pillar reinforces competitiveness through increased funding and new financing tools, including a boost of more than three million euros in grants for production, development and video games. The second pillar promotes international outreach with specific programs in collaboration with Invest in Madrid, greater presence at global festivals and the strengthening of strategic events such as Iberseries Platino Industria.
The remaining three pillars group together measures focused on talent, culture and co-governance. Specialized training, innovation and audiovisual literacy will be promoted in collaboration with ECAM, along with new initiatives supported by the Audiovisual Cluster. Cultural programs will also be expanded, such as Short Film Week and a new film initiative for municipalities. Finally, the plan aims to consolidate a co-governance model that ensures the participation of the Madrid audiovisual ecosystem, in cooperation with the Madrid Audiovisual Cluster.
Choosing Madrid Content City as the venue for this presentation underscores the convergence between institutional strategy and the real dynamism of a rapidly expanding sector—one that fosters culture, generates employment and positions Madrid as one of the most significant audiovisual hubs on the international stage.
