Raúl Berdonés participates in the ‘Granada en futuro’ meeting

“The spanish audiovisual sector is experiencing a unique moment internationally, and Granada has the potential to become a key center for filming and production if it knows how to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the market.”

Raúl Berdonés, president of the Secuoya Content Group, participated on Monday, February 24 in the cycle of colloquiums ‘Granada en futuro’, an initiative promoted by the IDEAL newspaper with the sponsorship of Cajamar. The event, held at the Hotel AC Santa Paula in Granada, brought together prominent business leaders, institutional representatives and key figures in the economic and social fabric of the province.

During his speech, Berdonés highlighted the need for greater public-private collaboration to boost the growth of the city and the province. “Granada lacks ambition. The business fabric must commit more to the city,” he said. In this context, he shared his own experience in the audiovisual sector as an example of how to take advantage of opportunities: “at 24 years old, in the midst of the crisis in Spain, I saw the opportunity to create Grupo Secuoya, lead a productive change and bet on a global vision”.

He also highlighted the growth of the audiovisual industry in Spain and the role that Granada can play in this process. “The Spanish audiovisual sector is experiencing a unique moment internationally, and Granada has the potential to become a key shooting and production center if it knows how to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the market”, he said.

Berdonés also highlighted the success of events such as the Goya Awards in Granada, which he considers a great opportunity to position the city on the global audiovisual map. “Seventy percent of travelers choose a destination because they have seen it in films or series. Granada has everything to be a great international set: coast, mountains and desert less than an hour away”, he added.

The event was attended by authorities such as the sub-delegate of the Government in Granada, José Antonio Montilla; the president of the Provincial Council, Francisco Rodríguez; and the mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, together with a hundred representatives from the academic, business and social spheres.
